This is How to Forget
i want to go back into memory and erase you
from my mind. once, I'd rather be with you all the
time than be with myself. we do not know it is air
passing until it touches something. we do not
know it is heartbreak until it reaches the core of
our being, shattering us. most of the time i listen to
piano sounds than actual music with voices in it. i
do not enjoy music, after our split, from a range so
close, with voices to my ears. you had such a
beautiful voice, and readily sang me to sleep when
i was troubled. with these piano sounds, i am able
to create my own feeling or song or story out of
its sounds. i close my eyes and i forget you.
i close my eyes and watch the lyrics i create lead me
to the sea. now, this gives me comfort. this is how
to be sober. this is how to float. this is how not to cry.
this is how to create art: the embracing of the
spiritual, and the recreation of pain into something
beautiful like sound feeling like gliding over sea waves
and the floating away and the forgetting, by
listening to the heartbeat of the sea.
