I FELL IN LOVE ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON
and my insides became an artist’s dream.
became moonlight sonata leaking out of worn out
speakers. a boat floating in the moonlight,
diamond encrusted sunflowers frolicking about the sun.
everyday i pluck a star from the sky,
& make ten thousand wishes. ten thousand promises
i soak the fear at the pit of my stomach
in glitter, fashion new colours out
of question marks, drown my anger
in rose infused water, create
new languages out of rusted parts,
& write oxygen on my skin.
what am I if not equal parts anger,
equal parts fear? what else
do you name an orange ocean
& a raging wind? what is colour
if not another name for chaos?
i fell in love on a Friday afternoon
& swallowed chaos, bled stardust,
i am collecting universes in my palms,
planting them across my skin
there is a growing song
in my bones, & my body is moving,
a canvas of chaos and magic.
