EREMITE POETRY

EYIMOFE OKUWOGA

I DREAM ABOUT DEATH SOMETIMES

I dream about death sometimes
I see the reaper dancing in sunflower fields
with rainbows above his head

Once, he plucked a flower with his scythe
and danced in pseudo victory--
my alarm smacked us into reality

Sometimes my nightmares draw me
into sleep, painting

sad pictures in my mind,
I wear my canvas. I run myself in
phobophobia

so I die before I live
sometimes
