ABOUT US
EREMITE POETRY is a biannual poetry journal run by Babcock University students (& alum), for the purpose of creating & preserving a vibrant literary lineage in the institutional memory.
EREMITE POETRY follows in the tradition of The Kalamu Review (by Oyin Oludipe & Olatunde Obafemi), The Horn (by JP Clark), Black Orpheus (by Ulli Beier & edited for years by Wole Soyinka), & The Muse (by Chinua Achebe & still running till date).
EREMITE POETRY was born primarily to stimulate communal growth & craft development among emerging poets—student poets, especially—creating a healthy space for opportunities and creating new ones while at it.
Without poetry, the world is defunct. However, without a community to keep it effectual, poetry falls into contortion. We all have a responsibility to keep the fire aglow, here we are, doing our part.

OLUWATOSIN ADEJUMO, Social Media Consultant
Oluwatosin is a young girl (doesn’t being like called a woman for whatever reason) who was bitten by the poet bug in the quarantine period of 2020. Tosin prefers to be called Imade, enjoys writing poems with themes of abstract and mental longing, and wants her poem to remind people of feelings felt and kept bottled. Every one counts. In her free time, when she catches a break from being studying law at Babcock University, Tosin enjoys watching anime, reading manga/manhwa and fangirling 2D Men.
